Out of State Sales (outside Nevada)

Exemption of Payment from Nevada Sales Tax 

The state of Nevada requires ALL licensed automotive dealers to collect the Nevada Sales TAX on behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with the exception of vehicle sales that will be registered OUTSIDE the state of Nevada. 

Out-of-State Buyer(s) Only, means that the vehicle or trailer being purchased by the buyer must be registered outside the state of Nevada. 

Vehicles and trailers being purchased by an out-of-state resident to be registered outside Nevada can waived the payment of the sales tax by simply completing a "out of state declaration" affidavit. 

Licensed Car dealers are exempt from sales tax payment (dealer to dealer sales).

We cannot provide temporary plates or temporary Placard for any vehicles or trailers sold through us for out of state sales transactions. 

If the buyer wishes to drive it off the lot, they must purchase a one-trip permit. If the buyer chooses not to purchase a one-trip permit, the vehicle must be loaded onto a tow truck or trailer because it cannot be driven on Nevada roads pursuant to Nevada law.
